Please let us know what you think about nature in Granton in this short survey. The results will help us plan how people and wildlife can live well together in the area in future.

We're teaming up with Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre to bring a bit of beauty to the old railway path with a litter pick and lots of wildflower seeding where the trees have been removed at Leonardo's / Crewe Toll. A wildflower patch will be a nice distraction from the barbed wire!
Meet at Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre (76b Groathill Rd North, EH4 2SA, what3words: send.basin.chat) at 10am or at the Red Bridge at Crewe Toll at 10.30am (what3words: clash.starts.tins).
There will be a free community lunch afterwards at Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre. Yum!
Please let us know if you're coming along! katie@grantoncommunitygardeners.org
Wednesday 5th Feb - following community lunch (1pm) at Granton Community Garden (10 Wardieburn Road)

Join us to prepare for spring by adding yellow rattle and other wildflower seeds to some of the grassy areas in our patch. Yellow rattle is a special plant which helps wildflowers get established by sucking some of the life out of the grass - a vampire! We're hoping that this will add a splash of colour to some grassy corners to improve life for our local bugs and the birds that eat them, as well as for all us humans enjoying the view.
There will be lots of raking, some wheelbarrowing and some seeding - plus jumping up and down on the seeds at the end.
Saturday 14th February, Granton Community Garden, 10am-1pm (FULL - email for a spot on the waiting list)

Romance is everywhere in nature by Valentines Day so it's the perfect time to get nest boxes up ready for our garden birds. The wonderful Emily Martinelli - carpenter at the Pianodrome and creator of the new shelter at the Granton Community Garden - will be leading a workshop to create beautiful nest boxes using waste wood which you can take away for your garden or donate to one of our local community projects or public spaces.
We'll be working at Granton Community Garden and the session will be 10am-1pm, with a tea break! The activity will be suitable for people age 8+ with adult supervision. There are limited spaces so please book in by dropping an email to katie@grantoncommunitygardeners.org.
